Once, every town in New Zealand had a blacksmith. Today, we’re among the last family studios in the country still forging wrought iron by hand.
The big fabrication shops moved on to volume and machines. We stayed at the anvil — one family, sixty years, the old methods kept alive for the few who still want work made properly.
The Studio
We are Wrought Iron Specialists— a family-owned Auckland studio, and one of the few remaining places in the country dedicated to genuine, hand-forged ironwork. For more than 60 years we’ve brought knowledge, care and real craft to every commission.
Our work is defined by precision, restraint and timeless design — each piece considered in context and made to belong in its space for generations. A skilled blacksmith within our team still forges by hand, bringing depth and character to selected works.
We also restore, repair and rebuild. Antique, heritage or damaged work — we bring broken and worn things back to life.
From Brief to Installation
We take time to understand your space, your brief and what you want the finished work to feel like — then we design around that.
We meet on site or over drawings to understand the brief, the architecture, and what you want the piece to do.
Proposals develop through hand drawings and detail studies, refined until every proportion sits right.
All work is made in our own workshop. We forge, weld and finish each piece by hand to the agreed specification.
Our own team installs every commission, ensuring a fit and finish that reflects the quality of the work itself.
